Pole Dance Week #4

After finishing our Carousel spin last week, we 'meet' at the side of the pole for:
1-facing forward 2 figure 8s wiggling up and down
2-field goal: spin in place on inside foot to face pole, bring outside knee up, as knee comes up, lean towards the pole with upper body, and place pole between chest, step immediately back onto inside foot, raising outside knee as an accent
3-lead into a 'chair' with inside foot finishing off with a pirouette and back on the pole
4-do 2 quad dips at the pole
5-slide all the way down into a crouch
6-gently push forward onto your knees

Village Inn Halloween Party

Everyone is welcome (guys are ok :) students, friends, non-students. Bertha will be there and we will have a costume contest, pole hang contest and a chair dance performance - hot hot hot!!!!

Start time is 7pm - come then or after - flexible and non-structured.

Chair Dance Routine - week #3

Hi Ladies-
Week #3 adds even more fun onto our rockin routine!
1-After 3 full moons step out from chair and do a daisy petal circle
2-after looking over your shoulder to the front, walk towards the chair, pulling it with you until it is facing the other way (seat forward)
3-back to start position for the CHORUS again
4-facing forward step inside foot over chair so that you are straddling it facing forward
5-hip circles and hip dips
6-circle down until you are sitting on the chair wiggle arms up
7-full body circles and chest circles to one side
8-shoulers side to side slowly and trace one leg from knee to ankle at a time
9-turn to face side of chair, put outside hand on floor and lean back so your upper body is laying and supported by the chair
10-in this position do 2 crickets and 4 flirts
11-sit back up and stand up slowly
12-walk around chair when in the back take 4 daisy petal steps back
13-the beginning of the song replays here, so go through that until the jumping on chair part - instead of that walk to the chair
CHORUS
14-put your outside foot on chair seat
15-bottom slap and hip circles forward and out
16-straddler chair and do hip circles dips
17-circle down to sitting forward on chair - do full body and chest circles to one side
18-end with bringing legs together and leaning down to look straight ahead

Reality Show Information

Good Morning! The website for the pole dance reality show is:
verticalpolechallenge.com

They are being hosted by West Coast Productions, a small (west coast :) production company which will be airing the 10-31 and 12-5 shows - not available to us Mid-Western folks!!! But in 2010 they will be marketing the program to regular-folk cable networks so hopefully we can get some of the action here in MN and WI. I will keep you posted.

Pole Dance Week #3

Hi Ladies- This week we add on yet another spin - one that is new to even my seasoned students - the Carousel :) It is a one armed ballerina with your outside hand grabbing onto your outside foot as you swing around the pole - it is graceful and especially beautiful when you arch your back!

After sundial spin from last week
1-go to back of pole step inside foot and turn to face back of pole
2-hook inside leg on back of pole and as you bring your arms up into position put outside foot in front of pole and do one climb up the pole
3-slide down the pole both feet on floor and step outside back inside hooks behind your knee
4-lean back reaching outside arm overhead
5-keep inside arm wrist loose, as you swing outside foot around behind you and then step forward with outside foot, inside, outside and hook inside for a ballerina, front hook or carousel spin

DIRECTIONS TO BOUDIOR PHOTO EVENT ON 10/24

From I-94 westbound (Wisconsin, Saint Paul, and Downtown Minneapolis): ExitI-94 at the West Broadway Avenue exit and turn left on Washington AvenueNorth. Continue heading north past West Broadway and turn right on 24thAvenue North (at the Holiday gas station - it's less than 1 mile from theInterstate). At the stop sign, continue forward to the end of the parkinglot. You will see a sign for the Mpls Photo Center and we will have partysigns as well. It is the building on your left.
From I-94 eastbound (North Minneapolis and northwest suburbs): Exit I-94 atthe West Broadway Avenue exit and turn left at West Broadway. Turn left atWashington Avenue North, and in four blocks at 24th Avenue North at theHoliday gas station, turn right. At the stop sign, continue forward to theend of the parking lot. CHAIR DANCE - Week #2 Session F

Picks up from where we left off week #1, music is Beyonce's "all the single ladies":
1-step inside foot towards chair front (back of room) and swing other leg around so you are facing chair back at a diagonal
2-do freestyle hip circles here
3-swing outside leg behind you so you are now facing away from chair seat with booty facing chair seat - do catcher's circles and 2 hip dips
4- right before chorus starts again swing inside leg into position next to chair back facing front and step into hip dip facing forward with outside leg
5-CHORUS
6-step inside foot towards back and swing outisde foot all the way over chair seat facing front
7-2 chest circles 2 hip circles slowly sit down and trace the front of your legs
8-do 2 body circles one each way
9-lean back as we did in week #1
10-come up and swing both legs over to starting side, one leg extended, trace leg lines and hair flip on way up
11-stand up slowly for CHORUS
12-this time do not turn to face chair back, but instead step inside leg way out in front of chair back and step into wide stance facing forward with outside leg and do full moons

Pole Dance Routine - Week #2

Hello Ladies - here is what we did/will do for week #2 Session F in our Pole Dance Routine:
(continues from week #1)
1-from the back of the pole step inside foot next to the pole, step out with outside foot into a wide stance and do 3 hip dips
2-pirouette under inside arm to get back on the pole
3-with back on the pole do hip circles to once side, one dip with head to the side
4-step forward about 2 feet with your strongest leg and lift the other leg high in the air, toes pointed as you slide your booty to the floor
5-trace your bent leg with opposite hand
6-roll away from your pole twice ending up on your back
7-do 2 tick tocks and 2 crickets
8-roll once towards your pole ending on your tummy
9-push head back into hair flip on your knees and do hip circles and hip shifts
10-bend and snap to get up
11-walk to pole and walk 4-4-3 into the Sundial Spin

CHAIR DANCE ROUTINE - Session F

This one is done to "Single Ladies" (put a ring on it) by Beyonce'

1-start with chair seat facing you
2-stick one hip out and then the other- alternating hand on hip and other hand out with fingers extended (showing off your ring finger)
3-jump with one knee up and cross it over opposite foot as you come down out of jump
4-shake your outside hip 2 x
5-do flower petal turn around and step out into a forward body circle touching foot that is forward ending in a hair flip
6-walk to chair and stand on it
7-jump onto seat landing with one foot on each side of chair
8-do one body circle to each side
9-lean back, one hand on floor behind you and other arm arched overhead, look behind you
10-pull yourself up and do a leg splay
11-kick leg over the chair and stand up slowly
12-step out with outside leg into wide stance
13-CHORUS: put hand with fingers up and out; hip dips and hip shake; step inside foot forward and swing outside foot around so you are facing chair back in a wide stance- do forward hip circles and figure 8

POLE DANCE ROUTINE Session F

Here is through week #1 ladies: share your comments and questions :)

1-sassy walk from behind pole to 4 steps in front of pole
2-step out boldly into a wide stance
3-hip circles or chest 'q' in place
4-prance 4 steps back until your back is in contact with the pole
5-4 booty brushes
6-drop to your haunches/peek-a-boo/roll shoulders and knees
7-crouching pirouette with straight outside leg until you are facing the pole
8-booty up slowly
9-step around to the front until you are even with the pole facing the side
10-back bend or crab
11-step inside outside until you are facing the back and do a 1/2 upper body circle
12-3 steps into your spin
13-walk to side of pole and step inside foot out, swing outside leg around so you are facing pole in a wide stance
14-do 2 frisks, 4 flirts and booty shake
